How to Get Rid of Puffy Eyes
Puffiness is mostly caused by excess water or a buildup of lymphatic fluid, or even from your genetics or allergies. Lack of sleep can also cause puffiness as well as staring at a computer all day, reading in the dark, basically anything that makes your eyes water.
Here are some tips you can use to refresh your eyes and to get rid of the puffiness:
1. Keep your eyes moisturized.
Using an eye cream morning and night can help reduce dark under eye circles.
2. Stay hydrated.
Drinking lemon water first thing in the morning helps to keep you hydrated and reduces puffiness.
3. DIY eye masks.

4. Cool cucumber.
Antioxidants and flavonoids in cucumbers help to reduce redness and irritation, which removes puffiness
5. Green or black tea bags.
Both contain caffeine which helps to stimulate blood circulation. Place two tea bags in a hot water, and let it cool to room temperature and put them on your eyes for 15-30 minutes. It not only helps to tighten the skin around your eyes, but soothes your eyes.
6. Cut salt and alcohol.
Fries. Cocktails. Great guilty pleasures. Sad part is: these yummy treats dehydrate your body. When going out with your girls, make sure that you’re well-hydrated before and after!
7. Chill Potatoes.
Everyone’s favourite. With its high starch concentration, it helps to reduce inflammation. Put a potato in the fridge, chill it a bit, cut it into slices, then put it on your eyes for 10 minutes.
8. Get quality sleep.
Last but not least, getting quality sleep is important. This means you might need to change how you sleep - try not to sleep facing down, with your face in your pillow. Try sleeping on your back or use extra pillows so your head is elevated.
