Skin Tips for Combination Skin Types
When it comes to skin care, having the "best of both worlds" (oily and dry skin!) isn’t a win-win situation at all. Dealing with combination skin can be troublesome, but there are so many ways you can make it work!
Combination skin can be caused by genetic factors, the environment you’re in, the skin care you’re using, as well as stress and hormonal balance. An oily T-zone and dry cheeks is the most common type of combination skin.
How to Take Care of Your Combination Skin Externally
1. Ditch the Soaps
Soaps can be a source of dryness and irritation due to excessive stripping of oils. Try a natural cleanser, or an oil-based cleanser.
2. Apply a Hydrating Toner
Toners help balance your skin's pH and can also mattify your T-zone.
3. Exfoliate with Gentle Products
Use a gel, fluid, or water-like liquid BHA exfoliant for the best results. Exfoliating will help brighten up your skin and get rid of excess oil and dryness. Try exfoliating twice a week for best results!
4. Protect from Sun Damage
Use a light-weight sunscreen on a daily basis to protect your skin. Pro tip: apply a serum on to the dry areas before applying the sunscreen! Try our Glow 49% Jojoba Oil Serum for a light moisturizer that can be used in the AM and the PM!

1. Keep Hydrated
Drink water, because staying hydrated is a fundamental way to keep your skin balanced. The dry areas will be less dry, and excess oil will be reduced.
2. Food
Make sure to load up on enough vitamins and minerals, such as Omega fatty acids and collagen. Eat veggies, fermented foods (try kombucha, kimchi, and miso!), and supplements (Essential Fatty Acids can keep skin hydrated and reduce inflammation).
